About the Journal
|
DiploPedia: Journal of International Relations and Global Diplomacy is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to analyzing the complex dynamics of contemporary global governance, foreign policy, and transnational interactions. The journal serves as a critical academic platform for high-level theoretical discourse and empirical investigation into the shifting paradigms of world politics, multilateral cooperation, and conflict resolution. By bridging the intersection of macro-political philosophy, diplomatic history, and strategic security frameworks, DiploPedia aims to provide deep, systemic insights into how state and non-state actors navigate an increasingly multipolar and interconnected global arena.
The journal welcomes original research articles, conceptual analyses, and policy-oriented reviews that address fundamental and emerging issues in international affairs. The scope encompasses, but is not limited to, the following thematic areas:
International Relations Theory & Foreign Policy: Structural realism, liberalism, constructivism, post-colonial perspectives, and comparative foreign policy analysis.
Diplomatic Practice & Global Governance: Multilateral negotiations, bilateral diplomacy, digital diplomacy, international organizations, and the role of transnational institutions.
Global Security & Strategic Studies: Geopolitics, conflict transformation, peacebuilding, non-traditional security threats (cyberwarfare, environmental degradation, pandemics), and intelligence studies.
International Political Economy (IPE): Trade regimes, global financial architecture, economic statecraft, sanctions, and the political dimensions of sustainable global development.
DiploPedia is published semi-annually (2 issues per year), released systematically in June and December. The journal operates a standardized electronic publishing schedule to ensure the continuous and timely dissemination of peer-validated research.
To safeguard the highest standards of scholarship and academic objectivity, DiploPedia utilizes a rigorous Double-blind Peer Review protocol. All submitted manuscripts are subjected to an initial editorial assessment regarding scope suitability and methodological soundness. Approved manuscripts are then reviewed by a minimum of two independent, external peer experts specializing in international relations and diplomatic history. The final determination regarding acceptance or revision is managed by the editorial board based on reviewer consensus.
The mission of DiploPedia is to advance scholarly and practical understanding of international affairs by fostering rigorous, pluralistic dialogue on global diplomacy. The journal is committed to providing an unrestricted open-access platform that equips scholars, diplomats, and international policymakers with the analytical frameworks and empirical evidence necessary to cultivate global stability, foster mutual understanding, and address systemic international challenges.
